We have an exciting opportunity to share and show our work as a guild at Urban Outfitters Inc., the headquarters for Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People & Terrain. Located in the Navy Yard, the gallery is in the open-to-the-public main building—and on a direct route to the cafeteria/restaurant for Navy Yard employees.
Members are invited to enter this exhibit on a theme of waterways: the Schuylkill connects our guild house to the gallery—the Delaware, our city to the ocean, and both have strong ties to the history of the area. They act as borders between states, counties, neighborhoods. They supplied drinking water to the city, acted as trade thoroughfares, aided industry, the Navy, and more. Broad, interpretive concepts are accepted and encouraged!
We would like to include every interested member in this curated show. Enter up to 5 pieces, but please note, based on space and the number of total entries, we may only use select pieces. Feel free to use past work that fits the theme. Work can be 3D or 2D, hung on the wall, posed on pedestals, displayed on mannequins (we would need to provide), or just installed on the floor- whatever the piece requires, we should be able to accommodate. Please note any special considerations for work in your entry.
Members participating in Celebration of Fibers may use accepted work in both shows if wished. There will be an option to move the work directly from Celebration of Fibers to the show at URBN.
