Join us Saturday, May 16th for a Beading Workshop!
BEADWORK BOOT CAMP
taught by Judy Donovan
Saturday, May 16
10am to 5pm (1 hour lunch)
Workshop cost: $65 for Guild members and $75 for non-members. $10 materials fee to be paid to the instructor
Jump start your knowledge of off-loom beadwork during this all-day workshop. No experience necessary. Students will learn the basics of using needle and thread to create flat, tubular and spiral beadwork. You will learn the flat and tubular versions of square stitch, peyote, herringbone and, time permitting, a versatile but simple spiral (“the internet spiral”) that might end up being the beginning of a beautiful cord or necklace. This is primarily a techniques class where you will leave with beaded samples and instructions. Instructor will bring examples of finished jewelry using the techniques taught in class for inspiration. You will learn about the different types of beads, sizes, appropriate threads and needles as well. Instructor will bring a stash of beads for students to use and you are welcome to bring your own beads. If you use reading glasses for close work, it is essential that you bring them to class. A supply list will be provided.
Class size is limited. Register now by emailing Mawusi at firstname.lastname@example.org.
